2. General Safety

Before using your product:

  • Carefully inspect all packaging for damage.

  • Check that all parts are present.

  • Read all assembly instructions before beginning.

  • Keep all fittings until assembly is complete.

  • Ensure the product is fully assembled before use.

If any parts are missing or damaged, do not continue with assembly. Please contact us for assistance.

3. Assembly

Unless otherwise stated, products supplied by DreamNap require self-assembly.

For your safety:

  • Follow the assembly instructions carefully.

  • Assemble products on a clean, level surface.

  • Keep small components away from children.

  • Do not overtighten fixings unless instructed.

  • Ensure all bolts and fittings are securely tightened before use.

We recommend that larger furniture items are assembled by two adults.

4. Beds and Bed Frames

Before first use:

  • Check that all fixings are secure.

  • Ensure the frame sits level on the floor.

  • Recheck bolts after the first few weeks of use.

  • Inspect fixings periodically and tighten where necessary.

Do not jump, stand or place excessive weight on bed frames, as this may cause damage or injury.

5. Ottoman Beds

Ottoman beds contain gas-lift mechanisms designed to assist with opening and closing the storage compartment.

For your safety:

  • Always use the lifting mechanism as instructed.

  • Keep hands, fingers and loose clothing clear of moving parts.

  • Never allow children to play on or inside the storage compartment.

  • Do not leave the storage base open without the mattress in place unless specifically instructed by the manufacturer.

  • Ensure the lifting mechanism is fully supported before accessing the storage area.

  • Do not modify or replace gas struts with non-approved parts.

If the lifting mechanism becomes damaged or difficult to operate, discontinue use and contact us.

6. Mattresses

To help maintain your mattress:

  • Use a suitable bed base.

  • Rotate the mattress where recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Keep the mattress clean and dry.

  • Use a mattress protector where appropriate.

  • Allow adequate ventilation.

Mattresses should not be folded unless specifically designed for that purpose.

7. Headboards

Ensure headboards are:

  • Correctly fitted.

  • Securely attached.

  • Compatible with the bed frame.

Periodically inspect all fixings and tighten them if necessary.

8. Bedroom Furniture

Wardrobes, bedside tables, chest of drawers and other furniture should always be assembled according to the supplied instructions.

Where anti-tip or wall-fixing devices are provided, they should be installed wherever appropriate, particularly in homes with young children.

Do not overload drawers or shelves beyond their intended capacity.

9. Children

Children should always be supervised around furniture.

Please ensure that:

  • Children do not climb on furniture.

  • Children do not play inside ottoman storage compartments.

  • Plastic packaging is kept away from children.

  • Small fittings are kept out of reach during assembly.

Furniture is not intended to be used as play equipment.

10. Fire Safety

Many upholstered products supplied within the UK comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988, as amended.

Where applicable, legally required fire safety labels should not be removed unless permitted by law.

Customers should avoid exposing furniture and mattresses to:

  • Naked flames

  • Cigarettes

  • Candles

  • Portable heaters

  • Other significant heat sources

11. Weight Limits

Products should only be used within their intended design limits.

Excessive weight or misuse may:

  • Damage the product.

  • Reduce its lifespan.

  • Create a safety risk.

Where a manufacturer specifies a maximum user or load weight, this should not be exceeded.

12. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure your furniture remains safe to use.

We recommend:

  • Checking bolts every few months.

  • Tightening loose fixings.

  • Cleaning products in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Inspecting for signs of wear or damage.

Do not continue using products that appear structurally unsafe.

13. Replacement Parts

Only manufacturer-approved replacement parts should be used where available.

Unauthorised modifications may:

  • Affect product safety.

  • Void any applicable warranty.

  • Reduce the structural integrity of the product.

14. Product Recalls

If a manufacturer or regulatory authority issues a product safety notice or recall affecting a product supplied by DreamNap, we will make reasonable efforts to contact affected customers using the contact details provided at the time of purchase.

We encourage customers to keep their contact information up to date.

15. Reporting Safety Concerns

If you believe a product purchased from DreamNap presents a safety concern, please stop using it immediately and contact us.

To help us investigate, please provide:

  • Your order number.

  • A description of the issue.

  • Photographs where appropriate.

  • Details of any damage or incident.

We will investigate promptly and, where appropriate, work with the manufacturer to determine the appropriate course of action.
